Appli-bond needles are a great asset to hand appliqué, especially buttonhole appliqué with iron-on bonding agents like Vliesofix. Each needle has 3 bayonette cutting edges and pierces the bonded fabric with ease. They are also helpful when doing the button-hole stitch on fusible appliqué. You won't be sorry you ordered them! The top (the pointy end) is triangular in shape, which cuts a tiny hole in the fabric. The bottom end (where the hole is) is rounded in shape, which means the thread glides through with ease. These needles are MUCH easier to use than embroidery needles for buttonhole appliqué, since there is no tugging to get the thread through a too-small tiny hole.
