The Carnations quilt pattern contains instructions for making a wall hanging,  about 26 inches square, a single bed quilt (90 x 60 inches) or a queen bed size quilt, 90 by 90 inches square.  It has been machine-pieced and quilted using 8 different fabrics.

These instructions are written in a way that makes this quilt suitable for an intermediate level patchworker.  There are General Instructions giving a detailed background to quilt making procedures, and specific instructions for constructing this quilt.  Fast-piecing methods are used wherever possible.

The pattern for the wall-hanging size version of this quilt pattern was published in Australian Patchwork and Quilting, Vol 10 No 12, sold in May 2003.
