20 October 2006: EQ6 is here!! Well, nearly. EQ6 has just been announced, for shipping from the USA in late November, by the Electric Quilt company. I am happy to supply you with EQ5 now, but if you order I will email you to make sure you are aware of EQ6's imminent arrival, and to check that you don't prefer to wait. What should I buy? EQ5 is the state-of-the-art in quilt design software. With a huge number of built-in blocks, quilt layouts and fabrics, you can get that quilt that is in your head onto the computer, so you can see what it will look like before you cut any of that expensive fabric! You can also scan in your own fabrics, or draw your own blocks, to create a truly unique quilt design. With built-in videos to help you use it, and two great books, you will be creating your own EQ5 quilts in no time! EQ5 comes with EQ5 Getting Started and the EQ5 Design Cookbook. EQ5 Getting Started gives an overview of the design features in the program and also includes six electric-quilting lessons. The exciting EQ5 Design Cookbook gives "step-by-step recipes for cooking up exciting quilts." You can find directions on scanning, importing bitmaps, tracing bitmaps, turning a Drunkard's Path block into a Sun Compass block, creating a Bargello quilt, creating strip quilts, printing, and more.
